Now That's a Story!

This is the story of how I turned speed dating into the searchfor a husband and how I succeeded. I was alwaysbeen a huge fan of the8 minute Dating events that were hosted at my local bar, it was a really fun thing to do with girlfriends. We would hang out, meet 8 guys and in the end we might even find one or two that would be worth seeing again.

Eventually the whole dating scene began to wind down for us though, I had two friends fall in love and get married and another got engaged. That was when I realized I would have to begin looking for a serious boyfriend and eventually a husband. I felt I had enjoyed the single life long enough and I did not want to be the last one in our group of five to get married.

Since speed dating was all I really knew and enjoyed I decided this would be where I would meet my next boyfriend. I signed up for all the events I could find that were near my side of town and spent many evenings out attending them. By then it was becoming frustrating, it no longer felt as fun as it had when it was just a pastime. Now that it was serious business I felt like none of the guys met my expectations. It was hard finding any guysthat I ever wanted to see again much less fall in love and spend the rest of my life with.

Boyfriend material was in shortage in those months and I felt like my plan was going to fail. I went to event after event only to come home defeated and depressed. It was one fateful night that I had to attend an event by myself that I finally bumped into the love of my life. The minute I saw him I knew he was the one. We introduced ourselves during the intermission at the bar and once we started talking we couldn't get enough of each other. The next day we contacted each other and as they say in the movies the rest is history. I now have a wonderful husband and we are expecting out first child.
