Now That's a Story!

Internet dating can sometimes seem to be more work than it's worth, but when human relations have reached the low levels that they are at today it is sometimes necessary to rely on technological solutions for personal deficiencies. Internet dating can provide lonely people with a cyber-form of love that is lacked in the late modern world that we find ourselves in today.

I used to look down upon trying to establish relationships through the internet, and I never would have changed my mind about internet dating had a nice woman not hacked through my system and cyber-seduced me. It was sort of nice to be chased like that, even though it wasn't live in the flesh. Perhaps it was that I was so impressed by the fact that she hacked through my firewall to get to me. She had seen me in the office, and asked an office mate who I was. All she needed was my name, and from that she made her way through the office computer network system and then on to me. It was a beautiful surprise to have a little window pop up, and ask me how I got to be so handsome. I felt as though I was being stalked, and perhaps I was, but it felt nice nonetheless.

After a few weeks of playing this game, without my knowing who I was chatting with, she disclosed her identity and we went out to dinner together. It was the best night I've had in years, and even though it ended up just being a brief fling, I can say with confidence that the week that I spent with this woman was one of the most passionate of my life. If anything tops it I will be truly amazed.

The situation really didn't qualify in and of itself as internet dating, but the experience led me to be curious as to these confidential ways of meeting people through the computer. I began to explore dating sites and would check out people's ads. I really just longed for another experience like the one I had recently, with the hacker. After spending a month exploring the world of connecting via the worldwide web, I gave up on the idea of ever meeting someone like the hacker. She was one of a kind, and the way she approached me probably had much to do with the appeal of it all.
